How do parent's partner with us?
We have tons of volunteers and staff every week creating ideas, crafting environments and coaching kids to help them grow up the right way. BUT WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
We need you to help us help your kids by doing 3 things.
1. Bring your kids to Anchor's Away each and every week
Be sure to help them attend a consistent hour, with the same group of friends and the same leader every week.
2. Make The Voyage a priority.
Don't miss this window of opportunity in your child's life to do something with them. Remember, Anchor's Away and The Voyage work together to help you impact your child's spiritual life.
3. Talk about it every week at home.
Remember, no one can have more influence on your child's faith than you can as a parent.
Anchor’s Away
On Sunday Mornings you can expect Anchor’s Away to be teeming with volunteers who love kids and love to have fun! You can also expect a lot of energy from the kids who are there!
The focus of Anchor’s Away is small groups. We think it’s important for kids to connect with the same leaders and the same peers every week so they can develop strong and lasting relationships with the one another. Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick:
(1) I need to make the WISE choice
(2) I can TRUST God no matter what, and
(3) I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
In Anchor’s Away you’ll find that the Bible isn’t boring. The music is loud, and the dancing is crazy! This is the essence of large group. Here, all the kid groups gather to dance (if they want) sing (as loud as they want) and to learn what the Bible has to say.
The Voyage
The Voyage is Kid’z Cove’s weekly production that kids and parents come to learn TOGETHER about God’s Big Ideas. Each week, join your elementary student in the Kid’z Cove Theatre to laugh, hear what your kids learned about in Anchor’s Away, and get the building blocks to teach your kids about God throughout the week. Please note: If you have a child in Kid’z Cove Island and are headed to The Voyage, please pick up your preschooler first.
The Voyage features high-energy music, a dance team, and a crazy cast of lively characters that walk through life learning how God’s truth can transform us. Each month, Kid’z Cove focuses on one “Virtue” that the kids (and their parents) can learn to apply in their lives based on lessons found in The Voyage and Anchor’s Away.
Parent Take Out
Each month we provide a small take out box, filled with an activity for parents and children to do at home together based on the Big Idea for that month.
Also included in the box is the parent link. Parents have the tremendous task of instilling their kids with a moral compass to guide them through the rest of their lives. With such an important responsibility, it’s no wonder Moms and Dads are searching for some help. Each month we provide an audio CD with practical parenting advise based on the month’s Big Idea.
Events
Once a quarter, we get together to have some fun outside of Sunday morning! Our K-5th events are planned with the purpose of giving your child and their small group leader a place to hang out and develop their relationship naturally. (They’re also great for you to get to know your kid’s group leader). They are fun, silly, and always something to look forward to!
For Heaven’s Sake
We believe that your child’s relationship with Christ is the most important relationship they can have. For this reason, we take some time once a quarter to invite kids and parents to come listen to the BIGGEST story they have ever heard. For Heaven’s Sake is a program where parents and kids learn what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and is designed to help kids take the first step of a long and wonderful spiritual journey.
