The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 40 hours in church.  The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years.  The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church!

Family-Ministry-graphic.pngWe desire church to be one of the best hours of your child’s week. Our army of volunteers arrives each and every week, prepared and excited to see how God will show up in your children’s small group. And yet, we don’t want this one hour to be the end-all for your child’s spiritual development. Our volunteers are extraordinary, but we believe that YOU have a special opportunity as a parent to reach the heart of your child. By providing you with material, such as God Time cards, Parent Take Out, The Home XP, and our Parent's Only web page  that summarize your child’s weekly experiences, we hope to support you in continuing to talk to your child at home about what they learned at church. We strive to do everything we can to be relevant to them at church, and also support you throughout the week.

5 things every kid needs!

Here’s a list of things we at Swiss Cove feel kids need, spiritually -- these are some of the things parents and Swiss Cove leaders can work on together for the spiritual health of our kids:

1) A really big God they can trust no matter what.

We partner with parents to teach children nothing is too big for God.

2) Peers who believe what they believe so they talk with their friends about their faith.

We encourage children to participate in small groups where they have friends and feel comfortable building friendships.

3) Other adult voices that support the same biblical message they may already be hearing at home.

As children grow into adulthood parents need multiple voices speaking into their children's lives, echoing the same Godly wisdom they are hearing at home.

4) Nosey parents who make it their business to know where their kids are spiritually.

We encourage families to spend time together in conversational intimacy with Jesus; to read the Bible together for a deepened understanding God and to encourage applying His truth to daily life.

5) Uncommon sense to help them make wiser choices.

We want kids to see our world from God’s perspective so they can make the wise choice.

Five simple sentences packed full of potential for the kids in your family... the kids in our community.
